John M. Burger

John M. Burger, 75, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2024 at Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, Mo, with his loving family at his side. John was born Feb, 16, 1949 to Geraldine Colbert and Floyd Burger in Louisiana, MO. He was raised in Elsberry, where he attended the local schools. After graduating from high school, John entered the U.S. Coast Guard, honorably serving his country , two years in Hawaii and two years in Peoria, IL. While in Peoria, John met and later married Carla. To this union was blessed with a son, Shawn and a daughter, Heather. John worked for the Corp of Engineers out of Rockport, IL for 24 years, until he retired. He was also a proud member of the Elsberry Masonic Lodge for over 20 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial for William Louis “Bill” Kroeger of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Charles Tichacek, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Powell, Scott Kroeger, Nick Price, Andrew Beckemeier, Nick Gremaud and Doug Dodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Kroeger and Patrick Kroeger.

Funeral Services for Billie Jo Brown of Elsberry, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sam Byers, pastor of Elsberry First Baptist Church will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Robert Brown, Gary Brown, Alfred Brown, Kevin Hunter and Darrel Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Brown, Bill Brown, Gene Hunter and Sean Calvin.

Gary Michael “Mike” Hartley I, 74, of Elsberry, MO, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO on December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 22, 1950, in St Louis, MO. Mike was a selfless man, friend to all, and loved his community. Mike was a 1968 graduate on Elsberry High School. He united in marriage to Judy Marie Dotson. This union was blessed with four children: Michelle, Mike, Matt and Julie.
