Local Impact of Tariffs Remains Minimal
LINCOLN COUNTY - In a trade fight that keeps escalating and the potential of a looming financial crisis, one phrase remains synonymous: wait and see.In the two months of President Donald Trump’s second term, tariffs, a charge or tax by a government or a country on imports of goods, has been a constant conversation topic. Earlier this month though, the concern of tariffs skyrocketed when on March 4, Trump issued 25 percent tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

ELSBERRY - There always seems to be a controversial topic at the Elsberry Board of Aldermen meeting, and the March meeting was no different.

Birthday Bash Donor Event Features $5,000 Match
LINCOLN COUNTY - Birthday Blessings filled 159 requests from Lincoln and Pike County foster kids in 2024. Focusing on providing needed resources to kids in care, the nonprofit will be holding an annual Birthday Bash Donor Match Event March 28th – April 1.

Wheat planted area projected higher, yield and prices lower
The annual Agricultural Outlook Forum was recently held in Virginia and made some projections for this year’s wheat. They raised the wheat planted area a little bit from last year to 47 million acres, the yield was more conservative down to 50 bushels an acre compared to 51.2 last year.
