EHS Students Have Unique Experience
ST. LOUIS - Recently, Elsberry High School sophomores got the opportunity to tour the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. Students previously completed a study in English II class of the novel Night by Elie Wiesel. It was a memoir of his time in a concentration camp during the Holocaust.

Eight EHS Students Participate in State Government Event
JEFFERSON CITY - Each year, students from Missouri high schools have the opportunity to participate in the Missouri Youth and Government (MOYAG) conference the second weekend of November in Jefferson City. Elsberry High School had eight participants in this year's conference. The group was accompanied by chaperones Carolyn Wehmeyer and Emily Bange. This gives students the opportunity to learn and participate in three aspects of government in the setting of the State Capitol. Legislators meet in committees and in the House and Senate chambers to debate legislation. Attorneys try an appellate case before student judges and engage in a trial competition. The entire event is covered by the student media. Participants also engage in campaigns and elections for Presiding Officers who will serve during the following year.

MOSCOW MILLS - A recent burning of brush near the Tropicana Village Mobile Home Park in Moscow Mills resulted in several complaints and concerns by local residents.

Sunshine Law violations by social services agency will cost Missouri $120,000
A Cole County judge on Tuesday ordered the Missouri Department of Social Services to pay more than $115,000 in legal fees and a $5,000 penalty for “knowingly and purposefully” violating the state’s open records law.
