Giving Tuesday couldn’t have been a better day to honor a woman who has done nothing but given back for 34 years.

Elsberry Medicine Shoppe pharmacy is all about giving to their customers who patronize their local pharmacy. Owners Jerry Callahan and Andrew Osterkamp celebrate the holidays by hosting a Santa for the young and old alike to enjoy, providing photos to families, and treats.

ELSBERRY - Traditionally on the first Saturday of December the women of the Elsberry United Methodist Church hold a smorgasbord fit for a king, but sometimes change is good. This year a Nativity display was organized and set up in the church hall. Individuals from the community were invited to bring in their treasures telling the story of Christ's birth and reminding us all the reason for the season. Sets were made out of ceramic, plastic, metal, and even paper. By all accounts it was a huge success, with almost 100 sets on display for people to view.

MOSCOW MILLS - A suspected member of a Mexican drug cartel was arrested this week for allegedly kidnapping a Moscow Mills woman.

ELSBERRY - Two area groups kicked of the giving season last week by providing all the items needed for a Thanksgiving dinner for area families.

ELSBERRY - The Elsberry Fire Protection District was busy on Sunday responding to not one fire but two. Cold and icy conditions made it tough for firefighters responding to a residential fire and a vehicle fire.
