Funeral Services for Rosemary Sue Capps of Elsberry, MO were at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Ramsey Creek Baptist Church near Clarksville, MO. Rev. Rod Ohmes, church pastor, officiated. Burial was in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry.
¶ Rosemary, 87, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 17, 2025 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born August 22, 1937 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of Walter Lee and Lilly Lucile Fines Segress. Rosemary was a 1955 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on March 16, 1957 in Elsberry to Lowell Eugene B. Capps. This union was blessed with four children: Lowell, Jr., Michael, Dennis and William. Rosemary farmed alongside Bud for many years, working just as hard or harder than any man. She worked as the dietary supervisor for the Elsberry Health Care Center, retiring in 2008 after 20 years of service. Rosemary was a longtime member of Ramsey Creek Baptist Church.
¶ Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucile Segress; an infant son, Lowell Capps, Jr.; and her loving husband, Bud Capps who died on March 7, 2009.
¶ Survivors include three sons: Mike Capps and his wife, Kathy, of Eolia, MO, Dennis Capps and his wife, Yvonne, of Eolia and Bill Capps and his wife, Carie, of Louisiana, MO; six grandchildren: Micah Brown (Carl), Jason Capps (Kelly), Anthoney Capps, Courtney Capps (Dennis) , Gretchen Marr (Austin) and Ryan Capps; and ten great-grandchildren: Maddy Ayers (Ross), Morgan and Conner Brown, Kainan, Kai and Annie Capps, Christopher and Trinittey Capps, Maison Grimm and Alice Harrier.
¶ Visitation was from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
