Elsberry City Officials report that all of the new, larger water lines and their tie-ins to the existing water system have recently been completed and painting of the new water tower on Ellis Street is about to begin. During the new work to the City water system, construction activities resulted in the disturbance of mineral deposits in the older water lines which in turn caused cloudy water complaints from time to time during the last several months.
Alliance Water crews have been kept busy flushing both the new and older parts of the water system as Wehmeyer Farms, the water line construction contractor, performed the construction of the new lines and their tie-ins to the existing water system under the design plans prepared by MECO Engineering and approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Alliance performed extensive flushing of the water system earlier this week after the last of the water line construction, tie-ins and removal of water pressure reducing valves were performed by Wehmeyer. Alliance has been working closely with City Officials and performing customer service follow-ups after they flushed the water system to help assure residents and property owners receive the best water possible.
