First Baseman Zach Rimel leaves his feet to try for an errant throw to first base in the Indians 12-11 come from behind win over Community R-6 on April 9.

The Elsberry Indians sandwiched a 10-3 loss to Silex over the weekend with a walk-off 12-11 victory over Community R-6 on April 9 and a one-hit 17-0 victory against Wellsville for third place in the Silex Tournament on Saturday.

In the first game of the week against Community R-6, Elsberry’s pitcher Brandon Mound would record the victory in a game where the Indians had to come from behind on three different occasions.

Down 5-2 after the first two innings the Indians put up a three run third to even the score at 5-5.

For the next three innings both teams bats would go cold. In the seventh inning Community jumped ahead with two runs in the top, Elsberry responded in the bottom of the seventh tying the game and sending it into extra innings. The top of the eight saw Community put four runs on the scoreboard to pull away.

Once again the Indians battled back tying it up and getting the game winning RBI from Mound for a 12-11 victory.
