According to the Probable Cause Statement, upon arrival the deputy made contact with Maria Whitman, 23, of Winfield. He observed a silver knife in her right boot. The deputy removed the knife and found a hollowed handle that contained suspected methamphetamine.
A second person, Gregg Ripperden, 58, of Elsberry was located in the garage by deputies. While trying to locate his identification, a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine was located inside his wallet.
The location was searched and a homemade methamphetamine pipe and red plate with white crystal substance was found.
Both Whitman and Ripperden were charged with a Class D Felony of Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid.
