Two charged with felony possession

On Oct. 3, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 100 block of Meadowbrook Lane in Winfield in regards to an active methamphetamine laboratory and possession of firearms.

According to the Probable Cause Statement, upon arrival the deputy made contact with Maria Whitman, 23, of Winfield. He observed a silver knife in her right boot. The deputy removed the knife and found a hollowed handle that contained suspected methamphetamine.

A second person, Gregg Ripperden, 58, of Elsberry was located in the garage by deputies. While trying to locate his identification, a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine was located inside his wallet.

The location was searched and a homemade methamphetamine pipe and red plate with white crystal substance was found.

Both Whitman and Ripperden were charged with a Class D Felony of Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid.
