The Elsberry Boys’ soccer team has been busy the last week hosting Canton at home on Monday and competing in the Winfield Tournament at the end of the week.

Unfortunately, due to Mother Nature the game against Canton was cut short. The contest got the first half played before the skies opened up cancelling the game due to rain and lightening.

The Indians played three games in the Winfield tournament resulting in one win and two losses. Their only win came in the first game against Father Tolton, 2-1 on Thursday. Senior Michael Kelly scored both goals for the Indians.

The final two games against Liberty and Winfield, respectively, had the Indians lacking in offense scoring only two goals in two complete games.

Coaches Carolyn Harman and Jason Burbridge are still impressed with the improvement of their team game by game.

She said, “The team is coming together and improving each game.”
