If you have been in Margie Koch’s American Family Insurance office over the last 15 years, chances are you came into contact with Customer Service Representative, Pat Pratt.
Some say things are better the second time around, but the verdict is still out for Pratt who retired for the second time from the working world after working three days a week for Koch.
After raising her family and getting all her children in school, she hit the Hwy. 79 commute traveling to work daily through the years working at DrugPackage, Ferguson Crane, and finally retiring from Coke.
Some may wonder how this State of Washington born little girl found her way all the way to a little town called Elsberry in Missouri. Now that Pratt is retired hopefully she will have time to give you the long version, but for now here is the short version. Pratt’s parents were originally from West Plains, they came back home to start a family business, but after an unexpected tragedy Pratt ended up in St. Louis.
After her mother remarried the family moved to Foley allowing her to be a 1949 graduate of Elsberry High School. Pratt married her high school sweetheart and the rest is history.
Working for Koch was a great learning experience and something new every day at the office which kept Pratt on her toes. Pratt says she is going to miss work, most of all visiting with the people.
She added, “I feel blessed to be in a small town with great people.”
No big plans are in the future for Pratt as she looks forward to some volunteering opportunities and spending time with her husband and family.
