Martin P. Hanley, of Bowling Green, has been hired as the new director for the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center, (PLTC).
“Martin will be an asset to the students in all sending school districts, the adult student body, and the faculty of PLTC,” said Clopton R-III School District Superintendent Mark Harvey. The district oversees the tech center.
Hanley replaces Krista Flowers Luebrecht, who resigned abruptly in the middle of a school board meeting last September. Her resignation was accepted at that same meeting.
Flowers said later she had been treated rudely by board members and was tired of it. Her resignation launched a search for a new director, which culminated with Hanley’s recent hiring.
Hanley has been an IT instructor at Lewis & Clark Career Center in St. Charles since 2005.
Prior to working in technical education, Martin worked extensively in the IT industry in Bowling Green, O’Fallon, and Savoy, Ill.
Martin and his family reside in the Bowling Green area. He has been active in the Boy Scouts and the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
