Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds Dottie Crenshaw, left, confers with Jean Eberhard, project manager, about new service of public access to marriage licenses through Lincoln County website.

Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds Dottie Crenshaw continues her upgrade of services provided to the public by her staff.

She announced last week the addition of recorded Lincoln County marriage licenses to the county website. The information available remotely currently ranges from Jan. 1, 1993 to the current date.

Crenshaw reported her staff works every day at indexing and scanning in prior years’ licenses. As a year is completed, the “search date” will be updated.

“I prefer to have my staff index the information to insure accuracy of the data,” she said. “When work is outsourced, it is difficult to insure the information was entered correctly. We prefer to perform the work ourselves. This is a huge project. Lincoln County marriage licenses date back to November, 1825. We have made great strides in data entry. I am very proud of my staff.”
