The Cuivre River Wildlife Management Association, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation, will host the fourth annual Lincoln County Youth Deer Hunting Clinic from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Hawk Point.
The purpose of this clinic is to provide area youth with the opportunity to learn about deer hunting basics from experienced adults. This free event is open to boys and girls ages six through 15 and will begin with morning instructional sessions on deer hunting safety, regulations and ethics, and hunting strategies. In the afternoon, participants will get to practice their skills at clay-bird shooting, archery and rifle shooting under the supervision of trained instructors.
Lunch and all necessary shooting equipment will be provided free of charge. The clinic is limited to the first 35 kids and an adult must attend with each child. Preference will be given to kids who have not attended the clinic in the past. Call 636-528-4877 extension 3 to save a spot. The registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 25. (Please note that this clinic is not a substitute for the Missouri Hunter Education Course.)
