Things didn’t seem to go as planned as the Lady Indians made their way into the winners bracket for the Bowling Green Tournament.
With a win in game one against the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs, the ladies had high hopes. However, with game two being against the Silex Lady Owls, they would find themselves once again in the Natalie Flemming show.
“She is a hard player and a strong weapon for the Silex Team,” said Lady Indians Head Coach Hector Bencomo. “I think we spent to much time worrying about her and didn’t focus on the fact that Silex has other key players.”
Although the Lady Indians were able to keep Flemming at bay with 12-points scored, they were unable to defend against the other players who averaged almost 14-points in the game.
“Their a good team that makes a high number of their free throws,” said Bencomo. “We can play with them but I think it comes down to, we are not mature enough to put four quarters together.”
