Husband is person of interest in wife’s death

The husband of a Union woman found dead at the Elsberry Motel and Lodge is being held at a Franklin County Jail.

According to Case.net a Rico Clark, 28, of Union was charged with Felony Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree from an incident occuring on May 13.

On July 1 Megan M. Clark, 29, was found dead. An autopsy showed she had multiple gunshot wounds.

After finding the body, the Elsberry Police Department contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office who asked the Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad to investigate.

In a press release the Major Case Squad said, “It does not appear this was a random act.”

Since then the Major Case Squad has been deactivated and described the husband as a person of interest in the woman’s death.

(As of press-time there have been no official charges on the murder.)
