Three Elsberry High School girls track team members earned the opportunity to advance to state sectionals after their performances at districts held this past Saturday at Monroe City High School.
The top four finishers in each event advance to the next level. All three of the EHS girls placed fourth in their respective event: Madysen Kinsler in the 300m hurdles; Faith Zimmermann in the pole vault and Tyra Henderson throwing in the shot put.
Others participating in events but not advancing were Brystal Jones, Tynesha Henderson, Kara Lovelace, Eva Gladney, Melody Hall, Garret Hall, Eddie Bonstell, and Jacob Wolanski.
Montgomery County was host to this year’s EMO Conference Meet held on Tuesday, May 1. The girls team placed seventh out of 11 teams, while the boys finished in the last spot.
Those placing in their events were: Tynesha Henderson, 100m dash, seventh; 200m dash, ninth; Kara Lovelace, 400m dash, sixth; Eva Gladney, 800m run, 13; Faith Zimmermann, pole vault, fifth; Tyra Henderson, shot put, eighth; discus, 12; javelin, 10; Brystal Jones, shot put, 10; discus, 17; 4x200m relay, Henderson, Lovelace, Henderson, Gladney, fourth; Eddie Bonstell, 100m dash, 13; 400m dash, 13; long jump, 11; Garret Hall, 200m dash, 16; 400m dash, ninth; high jump, fifth; Douglas Horne, 1600m run, 11; Jacob Wolanski, shot put, 20; discus, 16.
