Elsberry Lady Indian Brittni Hagemeier scored her 1,000th career point on Feb. 18 during the first quarter of what turned out to be a very close game against the Bowling Green Lady Bobcats.
“It was incredible,” said Hagemeier. “There’s just no way to really describe it other than to say it was awesome.”
Hagemeier’s milestone bucket came during a trip to the free-throw line, which meant it could be announced to the home crowd immediately after it happened, rather than during the next dead ball.
The timing for such an accomplishment couldn’t have been more perfect, as the game against Bowling Green wasn’t only Senior Night for the Lady Indians, but it was also the last home game of the season.
