On Tuesday, July 3, Elsberry Police Officer Aaron O’Brien made two felony arrests stemming from a call involving a suspicious vehicle.
According to their probable cause statement, O’Brien was called to the 200 block of Orval Street in Elsberry. The caller stated a vehicle was on her daughters property and wanted it removed.
Upon arrival, the caller said two females and a male exited the vehicle and walked toward the back side of the Elsberry Motel and Lodge.
O’Brien walked to the room where the witness seen the three individuals entering. The door was opened and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the room.
One female, identified as Barbara Harrison, 37, of Elsberry slammed the door and running water could be heard from the room.
The male, Elijah J. Harris, 39, of Elsberry stated that he had just smoked marijuana before the officer arrived.
When asked who flushed the toilet, Harrison stated she flushed a button of heroin down.
After a search of the room, numerous narcotics along with paraphernalia and large amounts of cash were discovered.
O’Brien then notified his Lt. Airianna Brewer and Troy Police Department Officer Roger Mauzy.
A search warrant was processed and the narcotics, paraphernalia as well as two firearms were taken into evidence.
Both Harrison and Harris were charged with Felony Trafficking Drugs – 2nd Degree, Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid and Felony Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance.
Harrison was placed on a cash only bond of $75,000 and Harris was placed on a cash only bond of $25,000.
