Elsberry FFA brings it home

IMAG1844It was another great year for the Elsberry FFA at the 2013 Lincoln County Fair.

According to Jason Vandivort, Elsberry FFA Advisor, he couldn’t be prouder of all the work his kids have done this year.

“Not only were we well represented as our own Jesse Knox won Fair Queen runner Up, but the dedication, hard work and selflessness of our kids could not be ignored,” said Vandivort. “I have to say, this has been one of our best years as a group.”

The 2013 Lincoln County Fair results are as follows: Fair Queen Competition, Jessie Knox was First Runner Up. Brandy Hall also ran making the top ten.

Agriculture Mechanics – six projects exhibited: Cody Shaw – 30 Foot Gooseneck Flatbed Trailer – fourth Overall Blue Ribbon. Shaw – 16 Foot Gooseneck Livestock Trailer – fifth Overall Blue Ribbon. Caleb Eisenbath – 20 ton log splitter – blue ribbon. Myra Marty – Wooden gun cabinet – blue ribbon. Cara Marty – Wooden Hope Chest – blue ribbon. Anthony Grasso – Wooden picnic table – blue ribbon

Lamb Show – eight lambs exhibited: Hope Roeder – 1st in class and blue ribbon. Arianna Shaffer – first in class and blue ribbon. Sam Marre – blue ribbon. Paige Parker – blue ribbon.

Steer Show – four steers exhibited: Tara O’Brien – first in class and blue ribbon, also won senior showmanship. Shaw – third in class and blue ribbon. Logan Shaw – blue ribbon. Melissa Grasso-blue ribbon.

Hog Show – 13 hogs exhibited: Passion Edwards – first in class, blue ribbon, won senior showmanship and reserve supreme grand champion hog. Jessie Knox – first in class, Grand Champion Lightweight Division, blue ribbon, Reserve grand champion crossbred gilt. Alex Hogarth – blue ribbon. Kyle Bange – blue ribbon. Leanna Helm – blue ribbon. Lane Fernandes – blue ribbon. Brandy hall – blue ribbon. Nathan Stone – blue ribbon.

Rabbits – 24 rabbits exhibited: Myra Marty – blue ribbon. Cara Marty – blue ribbon. Sarah Brickey – blue ribbon. Brandy hall – blue ribbon.

Chickens – two chickens exhibited: Rachel Brickey – blue ribbon. Jesse Hall – blue ribbon.

Master Showmanship: Hope Roeder won master showmanship by exhibited a steer, lamb, and hog. She won by showing the animals the best of anyone in the class and answering general knowledge about the animals.

Horticulture Show – approximately 150 items exhibited: Samantha Marre – Grand Champion Floral Arrangement. Samantha Marre – Grand Champion House Plant. There were 75 blue ribbons from all exhibitors and 70 red ribbons.

Ham Show – 20 exhibitors: 18 blues, two reds. Jessie Knox-Reserve Grand Champion Ham. Kyle Bange – fourth overall. Sheyana Curtis – fifth overall and Alex Hogarth – sixth overall.

Wool Show: Hope Roeder – Grand and reserve grand champion wool.
