Funeral Services for Elizabeth Ann Gutmann of Elsberry, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Mark Payne, pastor of Calvary Chapel in Winfield, officiated with burial in Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis.
Ms. Gutmann, 62, died Saturday evening, Jan. 11, 2014 at her home. Born Aug. 10, 1951 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Edward Louis and Helen Gertrude Baker Hoog, Sr. She was a 1971 graduate of Webster Groves High School. She was employed as a cashier for Wal-Mart. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, genealogy research and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen Hoog, Sr.; one brother, Joseph Hoog; and one sister, Catherine Hoog.
Survivors include two daughters: Theresa Landfair and her husband, Jacob, of Wentzville and Tina Melvin of Elsberry; one son, Lee Gutmann and his wife, Kimberly, of O’Fallon; and her beloved grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Edward Louis Hoog, Jr. of Elsberry; other relatives, co-workers, and many friends.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry with a Prayer Service held at 5 p.m. by Fr. Richard Rath, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe.
