The featured speakers for the event were Charles H. “Pheeze” Kemper of Troy and his wife Mary Anne.
Charles Kemper is a sixth generation descendant of Martin Kemper, an early settler to Lincoln County.
Martin Kemper’s great grandfather immigrated from Muesen, Germany and settled in Culpepper County, Virginia in 1714.
“My ancestors arrived 300 years ago last month,” said Charles Kemper.
Charles has Kemper relatives on both his father’s side and his mother’s.
“In the family reunions that we have in Virginia I’m called a Kemper/Kemper because I have Kempers on both sides,” said Kemper.
