Fathers and father figures, it is that time of year again to enjoy a night of free pizza, drinks and fun with the little ones.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Clarence Cannon Elementary will be having their Fifth Annual ‘Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night. All dads will meet at the school cafeteria at 6p.m. pm for pizza and drinks and at approximately 6:30 p.m. The school will have a presentation about the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program.
WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. The goal this year goal is to have dads spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
Elementary School Principal Toni Wankel says, “Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.”
