Blown tire leads to overturned vehicle on Hwy. 61

N0588310On June 7 at approximately 5:20 p.m. Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C responded to an accident involving a 2006 Dodge 1500 driven by Benjamin W. Humphrey, 31, of Troy.

According to the report, Humphrey was traveling northbound on U.S. Hwy. 61 just south of John Creech Road when his vehicle blew a right rear tire causing him to lose control.

The camper unit that Humphrey was hauling then jack-knifed and struck the vehicle.

Humphrey traveled off the left side of the roadway into the median and subsequently overturned.

Humphrey suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Lincoln County Ambulance.

Five of the vehicle’s occupants also suffered minor injuries and were treated on the scene by Lincoln County Ambulance.

These occupants included Jayden T. Allen, 10, of Troy; Dawn M. Humphrey, 30, of Troy; Hunter W. Humphrey, 7, of Troy; Jlynn P. Humphrey, 9, of Troy and Joyce F. Patefield, 9, of Winfield.

Humphrey’s vehicle was totaled and was removed from the scene of the accident by Brian’s Towing.

Humphrey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
