With 38 years of experience as a Missouri attorney, Gary Grunick sees his candidacy for Circuit Judge of the 45th Circuit Court, covering both Lincoln and Pike Counties, as an opportunity to use his leadership and experience to help the people and the Judicial Court System as we face the challenges of the fastest growing case load in the state. Seeing both sides of the courtroom, Grunick has tried more than 125 jury trials to verdict as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. Grunick has also served as an appellate judge on our nation’s highest military court, The Air Force Court of Military Review, in Washington, D.C.
Previously serving for 21 years as a Judge Advocate in the US Air Force, Colonel Gary Grunick has a wide range of legal expertise and administrative law experience. Upon his retirement from the military, he returned to his home in the St. Louis area and private law practice. Gary received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration (1970) and a Juris Doctorate Degree in Law (1973) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He and his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Libby), both grew up in north St. Louis County and have resided on their family farm in Lincoln County for the past six years. The Grunick’s only child, Ann Marie, died in a church van accident in January 1994.
Libby’s family has lived in Lincoln County, MO for approximately 165 years. On her grandmother’s side, great-great grandfather Robert Reynolds Logan, and wife Elizabeth Eleanor Irvin settled in Lincoln County in March 1848 where they raised twelve children. Libby’s grandfather, Ezekiel Thomas (E.T.) Frazier lived and farmed for 100 years in Lincoln County. Her great-great-grandfather, Ezekiel Davis Frazier married Sarah Easter Elsberry in 1852. Sarah’s brother, Robert, gave the land for the town of Elsberry, in Lincoln County, Missouri. Gary and Libby enjoy living on the farm property once owned by her grandfather, Ekie, and preserving for the future the legacy given to them from past generations.
