The young, the old and even Sadie Mae could be seen warming up to the big guy in the red suit.
If you started on the east end of Main St., employees of Peoples Bank & Trust (1) decked out in their holiday attire welcomed customers with donuts and cookies for all to enjoy. Moving west the first sighting of St. Nick was at the Elsberry Pharmacy (2). He mingled with customers and spread holiday cheer. The next stop was the American Family Insurance office (3) of agent Nick Cacioppo where another Santa Claus could be found talking to children (and animals) to see what was on their Christmas lists for this year. Too many sweet treats, that’s ok. The next open house at the Elsberry Hardware (4) offered sausage, cheese and crackers to customers as they shopped for holiday gifts. The final stop on Main Street was at Providence Bank where customers were greeted with donuts and punch to munch on while visiting with Elsberry Folk (5). The Kris Kringle at our final stop likes to be called by another name, but for this occasion he lights up the children’s faces or in some cases makes them cry! (6) Brooklyn, Schuyler, Evelyn, Truman, and Flynn the grandchildren of Ken and Mary Harris made Christmas memories as they all posed with Santa. The final visitor to sit on Santa’s lap, (7) asked for good health and happiness for all of Elsberry good people.
