Acoustic at the Palmer Library this Saturday night

Posted on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 4:10 pm

Looking for something to do this Saturday evening and you love music, plan to attend the first ever “Acoustic at the Library” at 7 p.m.

The event at the Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library is free to the public and will feature musicians from Elsberry and the surrounding areas who would like to share their talents with others. While attending you have the opportunity to sign up for a library card and browse the great selection of books offered at the library.

This new event is the brainstorm of Elsberry resident, Thomas Murphy. He shares his musical talents with the residents at the Elsberry Health Care Center and thought there might be other musicians willing to share their passion for music.

Thomas has arranged for himself and four other musicians to highlight this first gathering.

“I wanted to provide an opportunity for Elsberrians to enjoy free live music, but I also realized this could be an opportunity to raise appreciation for the creative arts”, Thomas said.

He added, “This community is blessed with a fantastic library, so it seemed like an optimum place for a creative music session.”

For more information check out the Facebook Event Page, and mark if you are interested in attending so that it will give librarians and idea of how many people will be coming.
