After a solid start to the season for the Elsberry American Legion Post 226 AA squad they hit a bump in the road last week with back-to-back losses.

On Friday June 1 Post 226 AA team took on West and was handed their second loss of the season being defeated 4-2.

Brandon Mound (Elsberry) pitched five innings giving up three runs on seven hits. Andrew Kennedy (Troy) came in relief to pitch the sixth and seventh inning allowing one run on three hits.

“This was a tough played game by both teams. Good defense by both teams kept the scoring to a minimum,” said Coach Tim Mound.

On Sunday June 16 the 226 AA team traveled to Washington to take on Washington American Legion Post 218. Washington defeated Elsberry by a score of 10-0.

Luke Robbins (Clarksville) pitched the game for Elsberry allowing 10 runs on 12 hits. The offense for Elsberry just couldn’t get anything going only producing two hits.
