Lady Indians get first win of the season

The Elsberry Lady Indians got off to a rough start last week with their softball game against Van-Far canceled on Sept. 9 due to rain.     Mother Nature almost prevented Elsberry’s varsity soccer team from completing their game on the road against MMA on Sept. 9. “Lightning struck the second we got off the bus,” said Head Coach Dustin Robinson. “That forced a 30-minute delay.” After that 30-minute delay the Indians went out to complete warm-ups and get the game underway.     The Clopton/Elsberry IndianHawks shook off their Sept. 5 loss to South Callaway in fine fashion with an 18-12 victory over the Mark Twain Tigers on the road Friday night. On the offensive side of the coin, Collin Dugan racked up 27 yards rushing and 47 yards receiving.   • South Callaway hands IndianHawks first loss of the season

    South Callaway proved to be too much for the Clopton/Elsberry IndianHawks on Sept. 5 as they handed them their first loss of the season. The IndianHawks are now 2-1 heading into this Friday’s contest against Mark Twain.

    Elsberry’s varsity boy’s soccer team kicked off the season in fine fashion with a 4-3 victory over the Mexico Bulldogs on Aug. 26.
