                      Great minds filled the American Legion Hall on Saturday night for the 5th Annual Marcella Whitehead Scholarship Trivia Night. The money raised goes to numerous scholarships for Elsberry High School graduating seniors.

  • Bad little Elf

    As Christmas approaches, that naughty little elf that seems to be raising chaos wherever it goes, struck the Elsberry R-II School District on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Several photos have circulated on Facebook of the rascally trouble maker taking things out of cabinets, throwing clothes all over the house and now terrorizing the innocent lunch ladies. According to eye witnesses, the bad little Elf was climbing on counters, rearranging lunch trays and dancing around the cafeteria being disruptive.
If anyone has any additional information on the whereabouts of this deviant, please contact Santa Clause at his home in the North Pole.

Easter Bunny to appear at American Legion Easter Egg Hunt

The Elsberry American Legion Post 226 will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. on April 20. The event is open to three age groups:  ages 0-3, ages 4-6 and ages 7-10.   • Cox celebrates 80th birthday

    Friends and family of Elsberry resident Phyllis Cox honored her on her 80th birthday with a surprise party at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. In addition to fun and fellowship, those in attendance enjoyed a carry-in dinner and dessert. Following the meal, Pastor Paul Garvin delivered a speech in which he jokingly referred to Cox’s age and recognized her for her invaluable assistance with regard to the new film “Noah”

    The Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library will be hosting its annual spring fundraiser on April 5 in the Libby Clark Memorial Fellowship Hall at the Elsberry United Methodist Church.
