    The last Sunday evening of every month, take a trip up north Hwy. 79 through Elsberry and allow yourself to be taken back-in-time as Cadillac Bills holds their monthly Car Cruise.     During the morning hours on Monday, Elsberry Elementary students had the opportunity to watch BMX bikers perform tricks and stunts. A special half-pipe ramp was set up in the Elementary School parking lot as numerous bikers did flips, jumps and much more. At one point, Elementary Principal Toni Wankel and fourth grade teacher Sherrill Jones sat atop the ramp while a BMX rider performed a 360°flip.

E.H.P.S. hosts 2014 dinner/fundraiser

On Aug. 23 the Elsberry Historic Preservation Society [E.H.P.S.] held its annual dinner/fundraiser in the parish hall of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry.     The 21st Century Community Learning Center grant in the Elsberry R-II school district has been renewed for the 2014-2015 school year. The $199,422.00 renewal will provide 80 percent of the funds necessary to operate the Explorer’s Club afterschool program. Tuition will support the remaining portion.
