    The last Sunday evening of every month, take a trip up north Hwy. 79 through Elsberry and allow yourself to be taken back-in-time as Cadillac Bills holds their monthly Car Cruise.     During the morning hours on Monday, Elsberry Elementary students had the opportunity to watch BMX bikers perform tricks and stunts. A special half-pipe ramp was set up in the Elementary School parking lot as numerous bikers did flips, jumps and much more. At one point, Elementary Principal Toni Wankel and fourth grade teacher Sherrill Jones sat atop the ramp while a BMX rider performed a 360°flip.

Explorer’s Club open enrollment

The 21st Century Community Learning Center grant in the Elsberry R-II school district has been renewed for the 2014-2015 school year. The $199,422.00 renewal will provide 80 percent of the funds necessary to operate the Explorer’s Club afterschool program. Tuition will support the remaining portion.     The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will host fifth, sixth and seventh grade Dare Dances starting this month. Due to low turnout over the last several years, the Sheriff’s Office will no longer host eighth graders. The proceeds from these dances help support the Sheriff’s Office youth summer camp in June.
