  • Kirby performs at Elsberry United Methodist Church

    On Dec. 28 the Elsberry United Methodist Church hosted an organ and violin recital by Mitchell Kirby [above]. Kirby is originally from Troy and is currently a student at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. He treated those in attendance to a number of classical pieces on both the organ and the violin, which he began playing when he was only four years old.

Lincoln County Old Threshers hold first annual Swap Meet

    On April 18 residents gathered in the Elsberry High School Gymnasium to participate in the “Spring Quarter Auction”, a fundraising event planned and organized by members of the Old Glory Jubilee Committee.   • Elsberry city-wide yard sale set for May 2

    This year Elsberry’s city-wide yard sale will return to the month of May and the organizational torch for the event will be passed to The Elsberry Democrat. “For many years the city-wide yard sale was always held on the first Saturday in May,” said Michael Short, general manager of The Elsberry Democrat. “The car show was held that same day and so was the alumni banquet.” That was no accident.
