Easter Bunny to appear at American Legion Easter Egg Hunt

The Elsberry American Legion Post 226 will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. on April 20. The event is open to three age groups:  ages 0-3, ages 4-6 and ages 7-10.   • Cox celebrates 80th birthday

    Friends and family of Elsberry resident Phyllis Cox honored her on her 80th birthday with a surprise party at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. In addition to fun and fellowship, those in attendance enjoyed a carry-in dinner and dessert. Following the meal, Pastor Paul Garvin delivered a speech in which he jokingly referred to Cox’s age and recognized her for her invaluable assistance with regard to the new film “Noah”

    The Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library will be hosting its annual spring fundraiser on April 5 in the Libby Clark Memorial Fellowship Hall at the Elsberry United Methodist Church.   • 2014 Lincoln County Fair Queen scholarship applications available

Candidates must be 17 years old but no older than 20 on July 1, 2014; they must also be female, legal residents of Lincoln County, or attend school in Lincoln County at the time of the contest.   • Register now for Lincoln County Health Foundation clay shoot

    The Lincoln County Health Foundation (LCHF), a local not-for-profit organization, is organizing their Fourth Annual LCHF Sporting Clay Shoot fundraiser on Saturday, April 26 at Blackhawk Valley Hunting Preserve in Old Monroe.
