Wayne LovelaceYears in FFA -

I started FFA the year the Chapter was chartered in 1951. It was my sophomore year and I continued until I graduated in 1954.

Advisor -

Mr. Paul Watson

Leadership Roles -

1953 – 1954 Chapter President and 1954-1955 State Vice President

Supervised Agriculture Experience Program -

My SAE was hog production; I started with registered Duroc hogs and eventually expanded to crossbreed with Hampshire hogs. I learned a lot from my project and enjoyed all of the hard work that came with it.

Favorite Memory -

I would have to say my favorite memory was FFA Camp down at the Lake of the Ozarks. I was given the opportunity to really get to know members from across the state. Not only did we learn about their FFA projects, favorite memories and other roles they had in the organization but also in other extracurricular activities like sports or band and other hobbies.

How has Agriculture helped you to be where you are today?

With Forest Keeling Nursery alone, it has grown so much over the years. In the past, we used to grow all of our crops in the field, as row crops. Today, we grow majority of our crops in containers. Granted, we still grow a few seedlings in the field but as for everything else, it’s grown in containers.
