Although many may not be thinking about Christmas just yet, the New Hope Baptist Church most certainly is as they are busy planning their Annual Pack and Party for Operation Christmas Child (OCC).

OCC is an outreach of Samaritan’s Purse headed by Franklin Graham and since 1993, over 100 million shoebox gifts have reached impoverish children in approximately 130 countries. In fact, many times these are the first gifts a child has ever received.

The shoeboxes are filled with small toys, school supplies, hygiene products, wrapped candy, stuffed animals, T-shirts and much more.

Anyone wanting to be a part of this ministry can be. Throughout October, the church will be collecting contents to place in the box. Then from 10 a.m. until noon on Nov. 2 they will host their Pack and Party event.

This is a fun time for people of all ages. Also join them on Oct. 13 for their annual Fall Round Up.
