Sgt. Raney of the Elsberry Police Department executed a traffic stop on Hwy B at the Broadway Ext.
The driver, Christopher Ayala, 30 of St. Louis gave Sgt. Raney permission to search the vehicle. Seized was drug paraphernalia and two baggies of suspected marijuana. Ayala was summoned for speeding, no proof of insurance, driving while license suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Ayala is awaiting court appearance.
The Elsberry Police Department with the assistance of the Winfield Police Department, executed a search warrant at 422 North Second Street.
Several pieces of drug paraphernalia were located and seized. Also seized was an unknown substance believed to be illegal narcotics. That substance was sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab for analysis. Taken into custody was William Pennington, 44 of Elsberry and Marcia Weimer, 50 of Elsberry. Both are awaiting court hearing.
Elsberry Police Officer Michael Bales received intelligence of possible drug activity taking place at 407 South Third Street. Officer Bales and Sgt. Raney made contact at the residence and located several pieces of drug paraphernalia along with suspected marijuana and another unknown substance.
Arrests were not made in this incident and are pending the issuance of a warrant from the State prosecutor.
