Two in custody for multiple burglaries in Silex

On Aug. 1, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a stolen maroon 1999 Chevrolet Silverado truck off the property of Silex Central Elevator. Surveillance identified two unknown suspects who arrived in a Pontiac Grand Am.
On Sept. 3, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received information from a neighboring agency they had a suspect in custody who admitted to committing burglaries in both Silex and Millwood. Lincoln County investigators spoke with 21-year old, Paul Bruning, of Silex, who admitted to stealing the Chevrolet truck from Silex Central Elevator on Aug. 1.
Bruning told investigators he had an accomplice, 18-year old, Jacob Sinclair, of Marthasville, at the time and they both drove the truck to Cape Girardeau. They eventually dropped it off in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

During the course of the interview, Bruning disclosed he and Sinclair committed several other burglaries in Warren and Washington Counties.
Both Bruning and Sinclair are charged with Felony Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, two counts of Felony Burglary 2nd Degree, two counts of Stealing. Bruning is currently housed at the Lincoln County Jail under two $15,000 bonds. Sinclair is currently housed at the Warren County Jail for unrelated charges.
