Sheriff’s Office to begin Dare Dances

N1307P14007KStarting this month, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office begins hosting monthly D.A.R.E. Dances at the fairgrounds. The cost is still $5.00 to get in and offer concessions for attendees. Dances begin at 7:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm, please do not drop off your child before 6:30 pm. Parents are encouraged to chaperone during the dance.

The dates of the D.A.R.E. Dances are as follows: Aug. 23 – fifth and sixth grade; Aug. 30 – seventh and eighth grade; Sept. 13 – fifth and sixth grade; Sept. 20 – fifth and sixth grade; Oct. 4 – fifth and sixth grade; Oct. 11 – seventh and eighth grade; Nov. 1 – fifth and sixth grade; Nov. 8 – fifth and sixth grade; Dec. 13 – fifth and sixth grade; Dec. 20 – seventh and eighth grade; Jan. 10, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; Jan. 17, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; Feb. 7, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; Feb. 21, 2014 – seventh and eighth grade; March 21, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; March 28, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; April 4, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; April 11, 2014 – seventh and eighth grade; May 2, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade; May 9, 2014 – fifth and sixth grade.

The Sheriff’s Office uses the admission fee to pay for their annual Fifth Grade youth camp, which has been free for campers over the past 12 years. Because of the expanding population of the county and the growing number of Fifth Graders, this year the Sheriff’s Office is planning two camps to accommodate as many campers as possible.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to reminder dancers this is a safe environment and we do not tolerate fighting or criminal activity. Those found in violation will be dealt with through the juvenile justice system.
