Elsberry R-II still moving full steam ahead
Now six weeks into summer vacation the Elsberry R-II School District is making progress as crews continue to install the new HVAC system and lighting throughout the school.
According to Elsberry Superintendent Tim Reller, Ed.D., Peter’s Heating & Air Conditioning have installed a good portion of the ductwork and piping for the heating and cooling system. New lights and ceiling tiles are also currently being installed in the classrooms. The project completion date is estimated to be by August 15 at a cost of approximately $3.2 million.
“Now that summer school is complete, the custodial crews will begin cleaning the new high school classrooms and then start with rooms in the rest of the building as they get completed,” said Dr. Reller. “This will provide a much improved learning environment for the students and teachers. We are looking forward to completing the project and welcoming everyone back for the start of school.”
Although the District does not have any currently enrolled students helping maintenance, as they typically do, they do have former students lending a hand; Matt Loesing, Braden Spratt and Russ Richardson.
