Harding University announces their 2013 graduating class

Harding University, the largest private University in Arkansas, was proud to announce their 2013 graduating class on May 11. Among the 750 graduating students were Melissa Dykes, of Foley, who received a Bachelor of Arts in youth and family ministry; Alaina Thompson, of Elsberry, who received a Bachelor of Science in nursing and Lauren Thompson, of Elsberry, who received a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Graduates in the 9 a.m. ceremony included students from the College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education, and the Honors College. The 1 p.m. ceremony was for students graduating from the College of Allied Health, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Sciences.

Dr. David Burks, chancellor of Harding University, was the speaker for both ceremonies. Burks became president in May 1987 and retired to the roll of chancellor this June, concluding his 26th year as president. The ceremonies were held in the George S. Benson Auditorium. Burks presented the diplomas to all students.

Harding University has approximately 6,815 students and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France, Greece, Italy and Zambia. For more information visit http://harding.edu.
