Funeral Services for William Arlie Turnbull of Winfield, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, officiated with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Stanley Dildine, Dustin Dildine, Darrell Turnbull, Doug Turnbull, Skyler Julian, Eddie Mershon, Don Fisher and Zayne Fieweger.

Mr. Turnbull, 79, died early Tuesday morning, March 26, 2013 at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana. Born April 18, 1933 in Troy, he was the son of William Archie and Martha Mae Yates Turnbull. At age nine, he accepted the Lord as Savior at New Salem Baptist Church in Winfield and was baptized in Bob’s Creek. He was united in marriage on Jan. 20, 1951 in Winfield to Roice Fern Lavy. This union was blessed with two children: Ron and Patricia. He served his country in the United States Army from July 11, 1953 until being honorably discharged on April 15, 1955. He farmed all of his life in the New Salem community and later in the Curryville community. He loved coon hunting and riding horses. Seven years ago, the Turnbull family started the biannual Back 40 Bluegrass Festival at Curryville. He was a longtime member and former Deacon at New Salem Baptist Church and later a member of Troy Baptist Church in Troy. He currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Winfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Martha Turnbull; and two brothers: Elba Turnbull in 1993 and Shelby Turnbull in 1999.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Roice Turnbull of Winfield; one son, Ron Turnbull and his wife, Yvonne, of Curryville; one daughter, Patricia Rodebaugh and her husband, Larry, of Foley; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four “adopted” great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Rev. Richard Turnbull and his wife, Vivian, of Winfield; two sisters: Wilhelmine Shramek and her husband, William, of Silex, and Helen Phelps of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Winfield. A Celebration of Life Service was held at 7 p.m. Visitation was held again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of Service.

A graveside service for Graydon DeeMorry “Pigtail” Davis of Elsberry, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at New

Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Dinah Sutton, Chaplain for AmHeart Hospice officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Baker, Sid Baker, Richard Davis, Mike Reed, Tim Baker and Louis Davis.

Mr. Davis, 78, died early Saturday morning, March 30, 2013 at his home near Elsberry. Born Nov. 9, 1934 in the New Hope Community, he was the son of Graydon O. and Hazel A. Skinner Davis. He served his country in the United States Army from June 2, 1956 until being honorably discharged on May 20, 1959. He was united in marriage on April 15, 1976 in Poteau, OK to Grace Jeanette Summers. He worked for many years as a plumber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Graydon and Hazel Davis; three brothers: Clifford, Curtis and Tommy Davis; and his beloved wife of 33 years, Grace Davis on July 18, 2009.

Survivors include two stepsons: Ronald James Baker, Jr. and his wife, Georgia, and Sidney Lavaugh Baker and his wife, Lydia, all of Elsberry; three grandchildren: Tim Baker and his wife, Michelle, of Elsberry, Dakota Causemaker of OH, and Dustin Hollingsworth; and four great-grandchildren: Brooke and Bridget Baker and Elizabeth and Larissa Hollingsworth. He also leaves bunches of nieces and nephews: Louis Davis, Catherine Grist, Debbie Semon, Rich Davis, Brenda Powelson, Vicki Pickard and Billy Ed Davis; numerous great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Donald Edward “Eddie” Leverenz of Old Monroe died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the age of 73.
