After a wild night on Friday, Feb. 15, the Elsberry Lady Indians finished their season with a 5-4 record and took fourth place in their conference, after a 48-16 victory over the Wright City Lady Wildcats.

“Being the last game of the season our kids played harder,” said Lady Indians Head Coach Hector Bencomo. “They played with a little extra effort and heart, now I need to capitalize on that and let people know you can do that when you have the right incentives, but we should have been playing that way the entire season no matter if it’s senior night or the last home game of the season.”

Bencomo added that he explained that to his girls and he is hoping to see more of that attitude as they head into District play. However, he went on to say how proud he is of his girls being able to finish with a winning record and at how well they played against a “rebuilding” Wildcats team.
