The time has come for parents to get their children ready for the next 12-years of their life. Yes, it is time for school and years of homework but first the children must be registered for Kindergarten.
Registration for the 2013-2014 school year will be held from 7:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. on March 18, 19 and 20 in the Clarence Cannon Elementary building, room 126.
Children do not have to be present at time of registration. Parents will need to bring their child’s Social Security card, a state copy of the Child’s birth certificate, the child’s shot record and a proof of residency (consisting of a bill, or tax statement etc.).
Parents needing to obtain a copy of their child’s birth certificate can go to the Lincoln County Health Department. Children will not be able to attend school until all of the above information has been turned into the office.
When parents come up for registration, teachers will then set up a time to screen their child the following week. If the child has been screened already this school year, they will not need to be screened at this time. Those screening days are March 21 and 22.
According to the Missouri Department of Education children must be five-years of age before Aug. 1, to attend Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year. If the child is not five-years of age before Aug. 1, they will be required to wait until next school year to attend Kindergarten. For more information please call, 573-898-5554 ext. 257 or 215.
