Lincoln County Sheriff John Cottle

In 2012 many Lincoln County residents seemed to have lost faith in, not just their communities but in those sworn to protect it. Following the elections, they were given a man who has sworn to uphold and rebuild the statute and community involvement that was once the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Newly Elected Sheriff John Cottle said, throughout his campaign, the best way to serve Lincoln County is too know Lincoln County, a place he is all too familiar with.

“It’s like I told the deputies after we all got commissioned, there is a chain of command, a hierarchy within the sheriff’s department but most importantly there is a community out here and that is ultimately who we serve,” said Cottle. “That’s who gives us our paycheck. This is not my sheriff’s office, this is the communities sheriff’s office; they just put me here to run it.”
