Funeral services for Roberta Sue Laughlin of Troy, formerly of Elsberry, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Ed Gray of Morton, IL, and Rev. Conrad Cheatham, pastor of the Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church, officiated with burial in Auburn Cemetery near Silex. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Mackey, Ed Gray, Pat Fakes, Kendall Ericson, Kyle Ericson, Daniel Laughlin and Jason Ginder.

Ms. Laughlin, 53, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2012 at the Lincoln County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy. Born March 23, 1959 in Louisiana, she was the daughter of William Ernest and Helen Marie Mays Calvin. She was a 1977 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was a member of the Elsberry ARPresbyterian Church.

Survivors include her parents, Ernest and Helen Calvin; four daughters: Amanda Franklin of Elsberry, Jessica Ericson and her husband, Kendall, of Funk, NE, Cynthia Mackey and her husband, Robert, of Jefferson City, and Stephanie Ericson and her husband, Kyle, of Lexington, NE; and four grandchildren: Brooke, Cody, Alexis and Drake. She also leaves two sisters: Kathy Calvin of Elsberry, and Denise Gray and her husband, Ed, of Morton, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

Isabell Mary Capps

A Mass of Christian Burial for Isabell Mary Capps of Elsberry, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Raymond Hager, church pastor, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery.

Mrs. Capps, 81, died Monday night, Oct. 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis. Born April 30, 1931 in Sanborn, IA, she was the daughter of Valentine Henry and Genevieve Theresa Friedrick Bange. She was united in marriage on June 29, 1957 in Elsberry to Everette Keeling Capps. This union was blessed with three sons: Robert Dale, Ronald Wayne and Daniel Eugene. She worked as a seamstress for many years for Ron Hern and Bobbin Along. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local # 494. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Genevieve Bange; five brothers: Cecil Bange as a child, Joe Bange in 1989, Francis Bange in 1992, Arthur Bange in 2006 and Herbert Bange in 2007; and her beloved husband of 40 years, Buddy Capps on Aug. 23, 1997.

Survivors include three sons: Robert Capps, Ronald Capps and Danny Capps and his wife, Becky, all of Elsberry; and three grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Bernard Bange and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry; one sister, Clara Hammond and her husband, Manford, also of Elsberry; three sisters-in-law: Alicia Bange and Louise Bange, both of Elsberry, and Darlene Bange of Eolia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

Dorothy Wenona Bacon

Dorothy Wenona Bacon of Winfield died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at the age of 87.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Winfield.

Interment will be held in New Salem Cemetery.
