Clopton/Elsberry IndianHawks get hit hard by North Callaway team
The Clopton/Elsberry IndianHawks took a hard hit against North Callaway on Friday, Oct. 12 when they lost 41-6. Although the IndianHawks came out strong, in what Head Coach Lynn Nutt called the best game start of their season.
The Clopton-Elsberry IndianHawks offense has kept them in games all season and started well but neither the offense or defense shined on Friday, Oct. 12 when they were pasted at home by the North Callaway Thunderbirds, 41-6.
The IndianHawks recovered a fumble initially to set the tone but didn’t keep it up.
“We were extremely pleased with how hot we came out in the beginning of the game, said IndianHawks Head Coach Lynn Nutt. “It was by far our best start to a game all season, and if we had started like that against any of our other opponents, our record would be much different.
“However, our execution started to slip when a few things went wrong, and a good team will always capitalize on the others’ mistakes.
“There is no doubt that North Callaway is the best team we have faced so far. They are a very good program with big kids and a rich tradition.
“Programs like that, where the players are always in the weight room and continuously coached, are hard to reckon with.
We usually pride ourselves in physicality and discipline, but the discipline seemed to slip our minds after a bit. But, its very promising for the rest of the season.
