Ladies of Elsberry get ‘Down and Dirty’ after surviving the 2012 Warriors Dash
Shown above, from left to right is Julie Riddle, Rebecca Balfanz, Sharon Hartley and Beth Slaughter just moments before starting the 2012 Warriors Dash in Old Monroe.
Another season of warriors has come and gone and once again some of Elsberry own residents have found the ability to conquer 3.17 miles of hellish obstacles and rugged terrain, just to be crowned Warrior Dash survivors.
“It was awesome, amazing, something I will totally do again,” said first year competitor Julie Riddle. “The amount of running I was able to do was one of my favorite parts. I normally don’t run any of these, but I was able to push myself more that I thought. Afterwards I felt energized and ready to do it again.”
Alongside Riddle in this year’s Dash were two year vets Sharon Hartley and Beth Slaughter, as well as first time runner Rebecca Balfanz, who also said she was absolutely amazed by how demanding yet fun this year’s marathon was.
