Elsberry R-II School District; above or below state average?
Elsberry R-II School District Superintendent Tim Reller, Ed.D said in a past school board meeting that the district is going to continue working on their numbers, until they can get all areas above the state average.
The Lincoln County R-II Board of Education met in regular session at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Elsberry High School Library.
Board members present were School Board President Sean O’Brien, Vice President Mike Bange, Treasurer Alan Lagemann, Kandi Kinsler, Mark Rhoades, Matt Jones and John Boedeker. Others present were Superintendent Tim Reller, Ed.D, Secretary and Elsberry R-II School District Business Manager Anne Anthony, Jason Miller and five visitors.
O’Brien called the meeting to order, recognizing visitors and giving them the opportunity to speak before the board. Reller reported an ending cash balance of $2,496,808.80. He also reported YTD Revenues of $1,444,015.24 and YTD Expenditures of $1,207,050.39.
“This is down over 30 students from the 2010-2011 school year, which will have an impact on the district funding in 2013-2014,” explained Reller.
With no communications to report or old business to discuss the board moved on and approved classified job descriptions as they were presented, as well as the Prop B Resolution, which is a proposition on increasing the tobacco tax. The revenue from the increase would be split between Elementary and Secondary Education, Higher Education, as well as smoking cessation programs.
