Elsberry Lady Indians are District Champs ‘NOUGH SAID’

The Elsberry Lady Indians captured the Class 2 District 11 Championship Monday night with a 10-0 victory over Principia. It was their second consecutive 10-0 win in the tournament, the first came against Louisiana. The third time was a charm for the Elsberry Lady Indians as they captured the Class 2, District 11 Championship on a cold night under the lights in Elsberry.

After defeating the Louisiana Lady Bulldogs 10-0 last Thursday, Elsberry had to wait out a rain postponement to get their hands on the #3 seed Principia Lady Panthers. With another 10-0 win, Elsberry also put their hands around the District 11 Championship trophy, something that has eluded them the past two seasons, despite being in the championship game each time.

Just like fate though, the team Elsberry couldn’t beat for a District title, is the same team that stands in their way on Wednesday, Palmyra.

Elsberry will travel to Palmyra on Wednesday for the Sectional game at 5:30 p.m. (Listen to the live broadcast on the Indian Sports Network at www.elsberrydemocrat.com).
