MoDOT closes Hwy 79 down to one lane just south of Elsberry
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and its contractor Magruder Construction Company will begin pavement resurfacing on Route 79 in St. Charles County starting Tuesday, Sept. 4, weather permitting.
Crews will close one lane of Hwy 79 from Interstate 70 to just south of the Lincoln County line Tuesday through Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement resurfacing.
Motorists are urged to use caution as flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Crews will start work on the northbound lane before moving to the southbound lane.
The project includes resurfacing the westbound I-70 exit ramp to northbound Hwy 79, the outer roads and all connecting ramps along Hwy 79. This work is expected to be completed by mid September.
