Changes are in store for Elsberry’s Cross Country Program in 2014.
“Elsberry has been moved to Class 2,” said Head Coach Ezra Tillotson.
Most of the schools in that group are private and the majority of those are all male.
“That means our boys are going to get some tremendous competition,” said Tillotson.
Tillotson, who has been coaching cross-country since 1996, said the toughest competition would probably come from schools such as Lutheran St. Charles, Principia and Whitfield.
“Lutheran St. Charles has been a perennial power and they will continue to be,” said Tillotson. “Principia is going to be pretty rough and Whitfield has always produced some really good teams.”
Fortunately, Tillotson will still have the majority of the same talented runners he coached last year.
“We lost Anne Marie Bufford and Anne Heintzelman but I still have some great talent,” said Tillotson.
