Elsberry’s new activities director and head girls softball coach Chad Twellman is gearing up for his first year with the Lady Indians.
Twellman’s team will be new and inexperienced due to the loss of six seniors and that lack of experience is something he is already feeling the affects of.
“We have some weaknesses,” said Twellman. “Fundamentally we’ve got to get better.”
One of those weaknesses is in the team’s pitching staff.
“Sabrina Pruitt hasn’t pitched in years because she’s been stuck behind a great pitcher in Becca Almus,” said Twellman. “That hurts her a little bit experience-wise now that she’s a senior and I have to throw her out there.”
That aside, Twellman said Pruitt has the ability to throw hard and he has no doubt she’ll come through for him and for the team.
